Tobby Lie is a Machine Learning Engineer at Manifold, where he develops data and machine learning pipelines for our customers, using tools such as Dask and Streamlit. He also collaborates with customers so that they better understand their data infrastructure and how it interacts with the rest of their software platforms.

Prior to Manifold, Tobby was a Data Science Research Assistant in the BDLab at University of Colorado, Denver, where he contributed to a variety of projects such as protein sequence alignment using BERT-based models and sea ice type classification using computer vision methods. A highlight from his time in the BDLab was a project where he designed and implemented an end-to-end software tool for CDOT which leveraged deep learning for bridge asset management. Before that, Tobby was a Software Engineer Intern at Comcast, where he worked with the technology team, learning best software engineering practices.

Tobby has a BS in Computer Science from University of Colorado, Denver, and is earning his MS in Computer Science from University of Colorado, Denver.
